NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Greetings,

We’re back from April Break, and I hope all of you were able to have and fun enjoy the lovely weather. We are very happy to have everyone back at SRS.  And with our last day of school currently set for June 21, we have less than two months before summer vacation. Time flies!

Next week is Appreciation Week for all of the teachers and staff at SRS. Be sure to let them know how much you appreciate them and all of their hard work.  We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful, caring group of people working for our School.

Screen Free Week starts next week as well, from Monday, May 2 until Monday, May 8. If your family or your student would like to participate, please send in your pledge form or a note to Nan Mead. This is a nationwide event that encourages children and families to read, play, spend more time together, and be more physically active. See the attached fliers for more information!

Looking ahead to next year, we’d like to let families know that children arriving after 8:30 will be considered tardy (this year children arriving after 8:40 are considered tardy). We will make this change in order to extend lunchtimes.  Since we have more children eating lunch every day, we need to allow more time for them to get through the lunch line and eat! The school day begins at 8:18 every day.  Please try to make sure students arrive on time and ready to learn.

Fondly,

Kelley
